SEVENTEEN, aespa Lead '2024 KM Chart Season Best Summer'—Results Announced 21

The highly anticipated results of the '2024 KM Chart Season Best Summer' will be unveiled on August 21st. 

The global standard in K-pop charts, KM Chart, announced on the 16th that the final results will be streamed live on their official YouTube channel at 6 PM KST.

This year's competition has been fierce, with the nominees representing the hottest K-pop acts of the second quarter of 2024. Trot stars Lim Young-woong, Young Tak, and Lee Chan-won(이찬원) are competing alongside top K-pop groups SEVENTEEN, MONSTA X, TWICE, and aespa, all of whom have led the global K-pop wave.

In the 'BEST K-MUSIC' category, 25 songs are in contention, including the hit 'Sonagi' by Eclipse, formed through the drama 'Lovely Runner (선재 업고 튀어)', Young Tak's 'Form is Crazy', ONF's 'Bye My Monster', TWS's 'First Meeting Didn't Go as Planned', and Lee Chan-won's 'Sky Travel'.

The 'BEST K-MUSIC ARTIST' category features 16 nominees, including RM (BTS), Lim Young-woong, Young Tak, SEVENTEEN, and aespa, who have all made a significant impact on the K-pop scene this year.

The 'BEST HOT CHOICE' category, which measures popularity, sees BTS's Jin, MONSTA X, Cha Eun-woo, and Kang Daniel among the 14 male nominees, while Secret Number, Red Velvet's Wendy, Dreamcatcher, Lee Chae-yeon, and TWICE are among the 15 female contenders.

The 'BEST ROOKIE' category aims to highlight the rising stars of K-pop. The male nominees include N.Ssign, RIIZE, TWS, NEXTY, and NCT Wish, while the female category includes UN1CE, NiziU, BABYMONSTER, ILLIT, and KISS OF LIFE.

A newly introduced special category, 'BEST LEGEND', honors veteran K-pop artists with over 20 years in the industry. Nominees include Kim Jaejoong, Lee Seung-chul, Minwoo, BoA, and Dynamic Duo, all of whom made comebacks in the first half of 2024. This special award aims to celebrate the legendary artists who laid the foundation for K-pop's global success.

The '2024 KM Chart Season Best Summer' recognizes the most popular artists and songs from Q2 2024 across seven categories, including the new 'BEST LEGEND' award. Winners are determined based on a combination of KM Chart data, expert panel evaluations, and popularity surveys. The top artist in each category will be automatically nominated for the 'Universal Golden Best' at the 2025 Universal Superstar Awards.
